Welcoming Metatissue to the PULSE Consortium!
Metatissue joins the PULSE project through the Horizon Europe Hop-On Facility, bringing expertise in protein-based materials to assist the generation of a 3D cardiac model

The PULSE project is expanding! We welcome Metatissue, a company specializing in human protein-based materials, as a new consortium partner through the Horizon Europe Hop-On Facility. With expertise in cell culture, tissue engineering, and disease modeling, Metatissue will be key in advancing our work on bioprinting cardiac tissue for space applications.
Metatissue’s participation will focus on two critical areas: enhancing human protein-based material production, and developing cryopreservation and vitrification protocols to ensure the long-term viability of biofabricated tissues.
The company will be represented by Catarina Custódio (Co-Founder & CEO) and Sara Santos (Senior Researcher), who will contribute their expertise in biomaterials and regenerative medicine to strengthen the innovative aspects of our research.
As PULSE continues to push the boundaries of bioprinting for space and regenerative medicine, we are excited to have Metatissue on board and look forward to the new possibilities their expertise will unlock.
