PULSE Consortium Meeting: New partner and collaborations
PULSE’s 18-month meeting highlights progress, collaboration, and the addition of MetaTissue to enhance bioprinting breakthroughs in microgravity.
The PULSE consortium gathered recently for a productive 18-month meeting, bringing together project partners to review progress and plan the next steps for advancing its innovative space bioprinting technology. Held virtually On September 27, 2024, the meeting focused on refining our shared vision, ensuring alignment on upcoming deliverables, and celebrating our collective progress.
The meeting covered key project developments, including updates on the first prototype of the PULSE bioprinter and recent advancements in creating complex 3D cardiac tissue models. The team also discussed the integration of vascular networks, a crucial aspect for the cardiac models that will be tested aboard the International Space Station.
A major highlight of this meeting was welcoming MetaTissue to the PULSE consortium! Joining through a successful Horizon Europe Hop-On Facility, MetaTissue brings fresh expertise to our mission of advancing cardiac bioprinting in space. Their involvement marks an exciting expansion of our capabilities, and we’re thrilled to see how their input will help accelerate the project’s breakthroughs.
As the project approaches its upcoming space experiments, the consortium remains focused on advancing cardiac research through innovative bioprinting, acoustics, and magnetism in microgravity.
