Maastricht University presented PULSE at TERMIS EU 2026

Alix Lemaître presented research on human cardiac model development using natural hydrogels and microfluidic bioprinting Palma de Mallorca.

From 21 to 24 April 2026, Alix Lemaître from the MERLN Institute represented the PULSE project at the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society European Chapter Meeting, held in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. This year’s conference, themed “Accelerating Multidisciplinary Innovation to Close the Gap in Clinical Translation”, brought together researchers and clinicians working at the forefront of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.

Alix presented her work as part of the parallel symposium “Advancing Tissue Engineering with Microfluidic-Assisted 3D Biofabrication Approaches for Modelling and Regeneration”, which focused on emerging biofabrication techniques and their applications in tissue modelling and repair. Her talk, titled “Development of a Physiologically Relevant Human Cardiac Model Using Natural Hydrogels and Microfluidic Bioprinting”, explored a key scientific challenge within the PULSE project: how hydrogel screening and microfluidic bioprinting techniques aim to enhance the maturation of human cardiac models.
