Professor Jean-Pol Frippiat is an immunologist based at the University of Lorraine, Faculty of Medicine, Vandoeuvre-lès-Nancy, France, where he founded the “Stress, Immunity, Pathogens” laboratory (http://simpa.univ-lorraine.fr/). After training in chemistry, he studied immunology at Montpellier II University in France and at the Medical Research Council in Cambridge, UK. One of his research topics is the analysis of the impact of spaceflight and of spaceflight-associated environmental modifications on the immune system, with a focus on antibody production and B cells.
