Interview with Ezgi Çevik

Researcher at MERLN on how to build a device that suspends cardiac cells and helps them combine into more complex tissues.

Hello, I’m Ezgi. I’m working in Maastricht University and I’m doing my PhD right now.

I’m working on the PULSE project and I’m working on the design part. So I’m working on the PULSE device itself, which is a magneto acoustic levitation device.

And, well, I’m a mechanical engineer and I studied also biomedical engineering in my master’s, and this is how I got my PhD position, basically.

And now I’m creating a magnetic and acoustic levitation system. And our aim is to levitate cardiac organoids with this device so that we can create cardiac constructs.
